We are looking for a new colleague to join our international accounting team to support our European colleagues, with a dedicated focus on our Belux and German entities. In this role, you will execute day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accuracy in financial records, and support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, bank reconciliation, and fixed assets management (capitalization and depreciation).
- Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and assist with the preparation of tax filings, audits, and statutory reporting.
- Review and validate financial data to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Partner with internal departments for documentation and support budgeting and forecasting with financial data and insights.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting or a similar financial role.
- Solid understanding of debits, credits, accruals, provision accounting, depreciation calculation, and deferred costs.
- Ability to correctly record supplier invoices and account for subscriptions/annual contracts (monthly expense splitting).
- Ability to read and interpret financial statements (Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statement).
- Advanced German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical skills, sharp attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace applications, with a specific focus on Google Sheets is a plus.
