The Performance and Commercial Excellence Lead is a critical leadership role within the Global Operational Excellence function, focused on shaping and driving continuous improvement in field operations and commercial performance across our regions. This role holds ultimate accountability for establishing the strategic direction and execution of performance and productivity initiatives across all global client partnerships, proactively identifying areas for performance improvement in our business and developing global strategic roadmaps to achieve them.
This includes the overall responsibility for ensuring a clear, consistent, and globally deployed Internal Field Steering (IFS) framework, encompassing the strategic development and implementation of key performance indicators with a strong emphasis on internal field steering metrics and comprehensive commercial contract audits. This role will also be responsible for developing a global framework for client SLAs & KPIs, ensuring that our IFS framework drives operations effectively towards achievement of our client performance commitments.
The successful candidate will lead collaborative efforts with the EDAO (Enterprise Data & Analytics Organization) and senior-level stakeholders globally to ensure data-driven decision-making and optimal performance across the entire global operation.
This leader will possess exceptional strategic analytical capabilities, executive-level communication & influencing skills, and a proven track record of driving impactful, solutions-focused outcomes.
Demonstrating deep expertise in our core services, this role is expected to spearhead global improvement initiatives, translating complex insights into actionable strategies. A background in large-scale operational delivery, coupled with superior analytic capabilities, including the ability to translate global data insights into strategic, tangible actions, is essential. This individual will take the lead in comprehensively assessing global weaknesses and opportunities within our delivery setup and will partner with executive leadership to define and implement appropriate strategic actions.
In this role you will focus on the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Internal Field Steering (IFS) Framework Ownership and Deployment:
- Hold overall responsibility for the strategic development, deployment, and consistent adoption of the IFS framework across all global regions and business units.
- Champion the definition and establishment of clear, globally standardized definitions, methodologies, and reporting standards for all key performance indicators within the IFS framework.
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of global data collection, validation, and reporting related to the IFS metrics.
- Proactively identify and drive strategic opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization of global IFS metrics, leveraging advanced data analysis and executive stakeholder feedback.
- Serve as the primary strategic partner to the EDAO team, prioritizing and guiding the development and maintenance of global dashboards and reports for visualizing and tracking key IFS performance across the enterprise.
- Direct the development and delivery of comprehensive training and support programs to ensure global field teams deeply understand and effectively utilize IFS metrics for strategic decision-making and performance management.
- Performance Trend Analysis and Strategic Operational Intervention:
- Strategically identify, define, and continually evolve key lead indicators that predict and drive global operational performance and commercial success.
- Establish and maintain robust, globally scalable monitoring and reporting mechanisms for these critical lead indicators.
- Conduct in-depth global trend analysis on performance data to proactively identify overarching operational weaknesses, emerging risks, strategic opportunities, and areas for improvement in the Target Operating Model (TOM).
- Develop, lead, and implement high-impact, proactive intervention strategies to address global performance gaps, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure enterprise-wide consistency.
- Direct global field teams in the implementation of strategic corrective actions, rigorously tracking and reporting on their effectiveness across diverse regions.
- Instill and champion a global culture of proactive performance management, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement at all levels of the organization.
- Commercial Performance Governance and Risk Management:
- Build & implement a global framework for client SLAs & KPIs, aligning with and leveraging contract and pricing frameworks defined by global Finance and Legal teams.
- Oversee and direct regular, comprehensive audits of customer contracts globally to ensure stringent compliance with commercial terms, pricing agreements, and Randstad Enterprise standards.
- Proactively assess and mitigate risk associated with client Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) commitments across the global portfolio, providing strategic counsel and actionable recommendations to senior Sales and Finance leadership.
- Ensure a rigorous and consistent cycle of global performance review across all client accounts, translating insights into strategic actions.
- Identify and address commercial discrepancies, preventing potential global revenue leakage and optimizing profitability.
- Develop and implement standardized global audit processes and procedures, driving consistency and efficiency.
What do we need from you?
- Strategic Leadership & Vision: Demonstrated ability to define and execute a global vision for operational and commercial excellence, inspiring and aligning diverse teams towards common strategic objectives.
- Global Performance Management Frameworks (IFS): Deep expertise in designing, implementing, and consistently deploying enterprise-wide performance management frameworks, including Internal Field Steering (IFS), across complex global organizations.
- Advanced Data Analytics & Insights Generation: Exceptional capability in leveraging advanced analytical techniques, global trend analysis, and data visualization to identify systemic operational weaknesses, commercial opportunities, and translate complex insights into actionable strategic recommendations at an executive level.
- Commercial Acumen & Risk Management: Proven track record in establishing global performance benchmarks, conducting comprehensive commercial contract audits, assessing and mitigating commercial and SLA/KPI risks across a diverse global client portfolio, and protecting commercial performance through strategic interventions.
- Executive Stakeholder Collaboration & Influencing: Superior ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with senior leaders (e.g., Operations, Finance, Legal, Solution Design, Commercial Pricing, EDAO) globally, influencing decision-making, and driving cross-functional alignment on critical initiatives.
- Financial Literacy: Strong understanding of financial principles, revenue recognition, cost drivers, and the commercial impact of operational decisions.
Desirable Skills:
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems: Experience with relevant ERP systems for data extraction, analysis, and reporting in a global context.
- Advanced Statistical Modeling: Familiarity with advanced statistical modeling techniques for predictive analytics and forecasting related to operational and commercial performance.
- Presentation & Communication to Executive Boards: Ability to craft and deliver compelling, data-backed presentations to executive boards and senior leadership, effectively communicating complex concepts and strategic recommendations.
- Specific Industry Knowledge: Prior experience within the talent solutions or professional services industry at a global scale.
