Director of Marketing Technology and Data
Summary: We are hiring a visionary, hands-on Director of Marketing Technology and Data to lead the transition from a decentralized, local tool setup to a global, programmable digital marketplace architecture. Reporting directly to the Chief Digital Growth Officer, you will architect a universal data foundation that integrates Generative, Predictive, and Agentic AI into our global marketing ecosystem.
Working Conditions
- Primary Hub Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands (Hybrid presence required at our Amsterdam global hub twice per month).
- Accepted Regions: Remote within European Time Zones. Candidates must be legally eligible to work from countries within the Central European Time (CET) band (such as The Netherlands, Germany, the UK, or Spain).
- Working Hours Specificity: This is a hybrid/remote role requiring full availability and alignment during the Central European Time (CET) zone to collaborate across international regions.
Role Overview
What is the core challenge of this role?
Randstad is transforming into a truly global Digital Marketplace. Currently, our MarTech landscape is a decentralized collection of local tools and disconnected data points. Your core challenge is the "Great Unstacking"—moving away from a traditional model of integrating disconnected SaaS applications, and building a composable, programmable infrastructure based on a single, universal data layer that we own and control.
Important Note: What This Role Is and Is Not
- This IS a highly technical software engineering and data architecture leadership role. You must have a deep foundation in engineering principles, cloud data infrastructure (such as GCP), and algorithmic logic.
- This IS NOT a traditional marketing campaign management or pure tool-administration role. You are not maintaining legacy setups or simply connecting software via basic middleware ; you are building the underlying ecosystem where the "brain" resides in our data layer.
What You Will Achieve
Global Architecture & AI Integration
- Centralization & Rationalization: Audit the scattered local tool landscape and lead the migration to a unified, global stack (CRM, Marketing Automation, CDP) utilizing rigorous, API-first systems engineering standards.
- AI-First Implementation: Select, deploy, and integrate AI agents and LLMs into production to orchestrate real-time interactions, content at scale, and automated lead scoring.
- A Single View of the Customer: Create a global master profile data hub capturing every customer and client signal across the entire journey.
Data Foundation & Operational Excellence
- Context for Agentic AI: Organize business data pipelines so AI agents have the deep context required to reason and execute marketing tasks autonomously.
- Global Data Contracts: Establish a global "Common Language" defining data structures (e.g., "Lead" or "Customer") consistently across all countries.
- Instant Feedback & Enablement: Transition attribution modeling to a real-time service and build a "platform hub" supplying templates and building blocks for safe local deployment.
Compliance & Ethics Leadership
- Compliance by Design: Implement robust consent management platforms (CMP) to navigate global privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
- Algorithmic Fairness: Establish guardrails for brand safety, audit AI models for bias, and act as the technical lead in evaluating the fairness of predictive models used for talent matching.
What You Need to Succeed
- The "Architect" Mindset: 8+ years of experience in MarTech/AdTech, specifically leading enterprise-scale transformations from decentralized local setups to centralized, data-core global structures.
- Technical Mastery: Deep experience building data-first environments, cloud data platforms (like GCP), and complex data pipelines.
- AI Fluency: Pragmatic understanding of how to structure, feed, and pipe business data to move AI from experimentation to core business operations.
- Empowering Leadership: Proven capability to influence cross-functional global teams, mentor senior practitioners, and lead through strategic ambiguity.
- Language: Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Key Metrics & Deliverables You'll Own (Year 1)
- Global MarTech and Data Roadmap: A validated, IT-aligned plan to pull regional data into the central Marketplace hub.
- Marketing Data Platform V1: The successful launch of the first version of our universal data layer.
- CoE Launch: The successful launch of the central MarTech and Data Center of Excellence.
- Experimentation Pilot: Execution of the first five high-impact, self-learning optimization experiments moving beyond basic A/B testing.
- AI Operational Framework: The launch of the first three production-ready, AI-driven automation use cases.
